Cat Poops and Pees Outside the Litter Box is Top Reason for Euthanasia

I asked ChatGPT what the top 3 behavioral reasons for a cat being put down were and peeing (or pooping) outside the box was #1.  Here’s a video about how I helped a neighbor with that issue.

Here’s the funny thing. A cat pooping and peeing outside their box after years of going in their box is not a behavioral problem. There is always a cause, and it is usually related to pain and mobility issues, or occasionally a fear issue.

In the video I posted a link to, the poor old kitty was very sore and tender in her low back.  The first time I touched her lower back she tried to bite me!
