Rennie won't walk on a leash

Learning to walk on a leash isn’t a challenge for most puppies, but what do you do if you have an older dog that won’t walk on a leash? And when I say the dog won’t walk on the leash, I’m mean it is a battle royale from the minute you bring out the collar or the leash!

Is it just a training issue?

Most good dog trainers can get any dog to accept the leash in one session and from there on out it is walkies anytime you want. Money well spent! I have worked in conjunction with an animal behaviorist named Martha Norwalk for about 14 years and she is one of the best! I have been a regular on her radio show, “Animal World,” during that time, so she knows what I can do as well. Once, as the COVID debacle was winding down, she ran into a case like she had never seen…

Corgi from hell won’t walk on a leash

Lots of people got dogs and cats during the pandemic to brighten their world when they were incarcerated in their own homes by fear. One such couple loved their new corgi, and he loved them and life was wonderful until about a year later when, from his perspective, they went mad and tried to choke him to death with a constricting device around his neck! And they didn’t just try it once. They kept trying! What is a dog to do???

Enter the behaviorist

Martha Norwalk was called in to work her magic and bring peace and walkies to the household. Almost an hour later, after a knock-down, drag-out fight, she threw in the towel and told the couple, “I’m going to bring Dr. Nels in on this case and get Rennie’s fight/flight system reset and see what that will do.” Her theory was that the repeated efforts to get Rennie on a leash had thoroughly cemented his fight/flight response in place and he needed professional help to get reset. Yeah, she learned that from me.

Did it work? Can Rennie walk on a leash?

After I rebalanced Rennie’s nerve and energy systems with Neuro-Energetic Balancing™, the change in his behavior was immediate, and with Martha’s expert help he got the hang of leash walking in about 10 minutes. Here’s the video Martha and I made of Rennie’s happy tale of success.
