“Incontinence” can refer to lack of bowel or bladder control. One of the more common searches for information when a dog starts peeing in the house is, “house trained dog having accidents suddenly.” People want to know:
“Why is this happening and what can I do about it?”
A Google search produced this: “A house-trained dog suddenly having accidents is often caused by medical issues (UTIs, diabetes, kidney disease, or parasites) or stress-related behavioral changes. The first step is to see a veterinarian to rule out illness, particularly if the dog is senior. Other causes include incontinence, territorial marking, or cognitive decline.”
I’m in favor of ruling out the medical issues in parenthesis first, but if you must do a regimen of antibiotics remember to re-culture their body with probiotics afterwards. Also, I have occasionally seen antibiotics only work temporarily, and the problem comes back about a week later. If that is the case, or if they’ve been diagnosed as incontinent, Neuro-Energetic Balancing™ has been known to reset some foundational imbalances in the nerve and energy systems and then the body clears up the medical or incontinence issues on its own.
What about, “stress related behavioral changes?”
If a house-trained dog suddenly starts having accidents, it can be stress related. Our pets bathe in our emotions. If there is household stress like marital strife, houseguests, new pets, or a new baby for example, then the emotional cascade from the people can put the dog into a fight-flight response. Rather than struggle to change the dynamic in the house, you could try to re-balance the dog’s nerve and energy system which resets the fight-flight system and see if they will adapt to the new normal. This approach worked for many of my members.
One such case was an older female wolf that belonged to a community member. She had been incontinent for months and had lost her indoor privileges. Rather miraculously she regained bladder control after one session and she regained her indoor privileges.
How do I reset the fight-flight system?
Neuro-Energetic Balancing™ is the fastest way I know to re-balance the nerve and energy system, which resets the fight-flight system. I have a do-it-yourself video course on the simple version of the reset for pet owners. It is available to members of my Private Membership Association ($10 membership fee) for an additional $50 for the course.
If you would rather have a professional do a complete re-balancing, which can also help with deeper foundational issues affecting your dog’s health, you can talk to me (Dr. Nels Rasmussen. I’m a chiropractor and energy healer, not a veterinarian.) for FREE to discuss the situation. If either the course or the idea of professional help sound good to you, CLICK HERE and fill out the contact form and I’ll get back to you to schedule a free phone consultation and also answer any questions you have about membership.
