Is Your Cat Spraying in the House?

When a cat suddenly starts spraying in the house it can mean that it is stressed by something new, some changes, but often you don’t know what that is. Fortunately, you may not have to figure out what set him off.

The fight-flight response can cause a cat to spray in the house

To illustrate this situation and what I do to help it with Neuro-Energetic Balancing™, here is Ken’s story about his cats.

I spoke with Ken on the Martha Norwalk’s Animal World radio show and did a remote reset on his cat Sammy on Sunday. He sent me this on Wednesday:

“Hello. I talked to you Sunday morning on the radio show with Martha Norwalk. I called about our indoor cat Sammy who was spraying in the house. You said he was stuck in ‘fight or flight’ and that you were able to reset him. I need to update you. I just came from downstairs where my wife was taking a nap on the recliner. Both cats, Sammy and Smokey, were sleeping peacefully on Caryn, together. This is unusual because Sammy has generally been jealous and not wanting to share Caryn’s affection. I hesitate to write because I can’t believe the change in Sammy and am afraid to hope. But I need to tell you how things have been. Since the phone call, we have not seen anywhere that Sammy has sprayed. And he seems to have a peace that he never had before. He is happy. Sammy is a gift to us, and we want him to be happy and peaceful. I think you have given him that. All I can think to say right now is thank you so very much!!!” Ken

I asked him a week later, “How is Sammy doing?”

“Hi. Thank you very much for asking and following up. I just went around the house again and didn’t see any evidence that Sammy had sprayed anywhere. Two days ago, he acted once like he was going to spray but didn’t. He just walked away. After dealing with it for so long we are still afraid he will start again. But he has not since the phone call! And he is SO relaxed and happy! Not at all tense and anxious like he was. It is so good to see him this way. And of course this makes life better for his brother, too.

He is a special gift to us. As is his brother. I want to keep saying thank you. We are so grateful, all four of us!!!”  Ken

Resetting the fight-flight response works!

Ken had two cats that had issues with each other, and Sammy was not handling it well. While serious fighting had not happened, Sammy seemed to become passive-aggressive and sprayed to assert his dominance or assuage his insecurity. He had gotten stuck in the fight-flight response, which is not unusual. Using a distance healing protocol I developed for my Neuro-Energetic Balancing™, I reset his system and the behavior stopped immediately.

If your cat has a strange issue, like spraying in the house, that standard veterinary care hasn’t been able to help, it could be that their energy system is stuck in fight-flight or is unbalanced due to trauma.
